How We Approach Detailing
Environmentally friendly products and less aggressive techniques
Products
We utilize professional grade, biodegradable products, and minimize the use of harsh, caustic alkaline, highly acidic or aerosol products whenever possible. This minimizes both environmental and health impacts for you and for us, as well as provides a luxury spa day for your ride.
Process
Whether we are cleaning your seats, or polishing your paint, we use the least aggressive method possible to achieve results. We generally shy away from tools like the extractor or steamer, for example, because residue and moisture left behind can cause mold/mildew, which we do not want! We will use these tools when necessary, and limit the scope to areas that require them to achieve results. For paint correction, we aim to conserve as much of your clear coat as possible, while still delivering you the results you desire.
Protection
We try our very best to minimize the use of protection products that contain "forever" chemicals. Unfortunately, a lot of protection products on the market today include chemicals like PTFE ("Teflon"), or similar. We will communicate our plans for paint protection with you to discuss these options.
We do offer ceramic coatings that do not contain PTFE!
Our Wash Process
In an effort to minimize water consumption, we utilize one wash bucket to clean your vehicle, and one wash bucket to clean your wheels and tires. This reduces water consumption from just the wash buckets from around 15 gallons down to around 5 gallons.
At times, we may utilize a process called a "Rinseless Wash," which reduces water consumption even more!
Lastly, pressure washers also dramatically reduce water consumption compared to utilizing the garden hose!
We utilize one bucket of water with car shampoo, with multiple wash mitts or other microfiber media. This ensures a "safe" wash for your car's paint, and reduces water consumption!
